One design clearly stood out and we’d like you to meet her.
Kianna Moy Gederman grew up in Rhode Island. She’ll tell you she is a self-taught artist who largely focuses on traditional art and mixed media. You’ll notice the whimsy in her work, inspired by comic books such as DC and Archie Comics, as well as the works of Disney and Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation studio.
When she’s not at work or focusing on getting her master’s degree, Kianna spends her time writing and drawing.
Kianna maintains that any skill, including art, can be learned with enough practice and knowledge.
As for how she came up with this years’ design she’ll tell you she went with skiing and snowboarding as her inspiration and decided to use “cool tones” for colors as she felt would go well with the RISKI logo, which is navy blue.
There’s still time to sign up for the 70th annual RISKI Ski and Board Race, which will take place February 2nd at Mount Wachusett Ski Area in Westminster, Massachusetts. Early registration is recommended but you can register on-site the day of. All who register will receive a tee-shirt!
RISKI dates back to 1938 and this race is the oldest one of its kind in the nation.
